One Last CF Post

I'm back in the land of $2.17 gas!  Seriously do not know how you Californians drive out there - both for traffic reasons and gas reasons.  I always come back a much more aggressive driver and a much more thankful-for-cheap-gas driver from the Games.

Nicole ended up 15th out of 40, but more importantly, was totally healthy at the end.  A year of carefully strengthening her back around the disc that caused so much pain last year left her standing strong after all that. Next year, with a full year of real training, she should be amazing.  Everything is going according to the long-term plan, and I am so proud of her!

One last day of CrossFit photos (for pretty much just Megan, Stacey and Jessica, sorry everyone else!), then I get to see Connor tomorrow and we'll get back to our regularly scheduled programming.  After all, I'm riding in a Jean Luc Cornille clinic this weekend, I need to at least have touched my horse by then!

The first picture is somewhat horse related - this is the first people hair I ever braided.  It's much harder than horse hair!

Had these seats both days.  Also Lucas Parker and his epic beard.

Saturday night, Nicole said "Hey Sam and Sara gave me some laundry for you to wash tonight..." (we were in a rented house) and that's how I ended up spending two hours trying to get stains out of & not destroy the leader jersey!  I could just hear the announcers saying "Well Sara should be in the white jersey today but there was some kind of tragic laundry accident..."

See you next year, California!

  1. Ahh I cannot wait to hear what you have to say about the JLC clinic. Be prepared for total brain overload, but he is SO worth it.

  3. AHHH SO JEALOUS (except of the stressful laundry). Those seats you had were amazing!

Congrats to Nicole on a strong finish! Especially in the squat snatch ladder, holy crap she made that look so easy! I may or may not have been yelling at my TV as she flew through that one. ;-)

  6. Yay congrats to Nicole! It's great that she finished strong and sound, I'm sure that's always a bit of a fear when competing at this level. Have fun at the clinic! Can't wait for the recap :)

  7. Your gas costs $2.17? Man, we're at like $2.59 right now. Grump face. Also I'm pretty sure I saw your friend on TV while eating a dinner of donuts in a hipster Austin restaurant... that is quite the juxtaposition.

    1. Haha! Don't feel bad, you should see how many cupcakes she ate on Sunday night when it was over.
