Rolex Roll Call

It's that time again - time to start planning for Rolex!  Who's going?  Who wants to hang out with me?

I live just over two hours from the KHP (northwest of it) and am planning on going to Rolex this year, so I thought I'd offer the following things to any bloggers who might be making the journey and would like to save some $$$:

(The bloggers in the photo below who will swear to the fact that I am in fact a real person and not a creepy Internet stalker.)

Blogger meetups are fun, Paddy is cute, Brego is huge, boy was Texas cold!!

- Guest bedrooms (I have two)
- Floor space (I have...so much.)
- Pickups from the Indy airport (Promise I'm a safe driver and I don't drive a serial killer van painted with unicorns like L. Williams does) (Just kidding, she doesn't drive one of those, but she joked about how funny it would have been to pick me up from my hotel in one when we hung out while I was out there for my Facebook interview.)
- A ride to the KHP for XC day
- My husband's cooking (This is worth your flight/drive/whatever.  Trust me.)

I took this with my phone.  You can get this close to the horses!

Haven't decided if I'm staying the night on Saturday night or not yet, but I do plan to splurge on a pair of Dubarry's from the good looking guys in tweed jackets this year!

Our SJ seats in 2014

(Who am I kidding, I'll probably get to the cash register, realize they cost as much as entering one rated event, and decide to do the event instead.  But a girl can dream.)

Hit me up either in a comment or at my spam email account: jalean one one at gmail dot com.

  1. Wish I was going this year :( Have fun! Also the Dubarry craze is insane - I was shocked that almost everyone had a pair on at Rolex. My SO, who loves a good pair of shoes and spends upwards of $350 a pair for his own, was also shocked, but more shocked because he thinks Dubarrys are shoddily made and way overpriced ><;

  2. I had originally planned on going, but since I added two weeks of showing in Arizona to my schedule I had to bow out of the Rolex idea. Unless I win the lottery or someone hands me a bucket of money. SIGH.

    1. Oh - Uni will be there with my trainer though! I might do another contest giving away gift cards to bloggers if they take a selfie with Uni.

    2. I'm sorry you won't be there, but I will definitely take a selfie with Uni!

  3. I am trying to figure out how to make a Rolex trip work for me this year, so I'll be in touch! I would be staying with a friend who lives on the KY/TN border - about 2 hours from Lex in the opposite direction!

  4. Beware, the good looking Dubarrys guys are smooth! They have your credit card info and you're skipping away with new boots before you know it!

    1. Lol! I don't think you understand my complete willpower that takes hold at the checkout. Every store, I amass a giant pile of things to buy, and then I get this regretful change of heart and put it all back at the checkout line.

    1. If you can get yourself here, I can handle ground transportation, housing and feeding you! That saves a lot of $$$. Can't help you save money at the trade fair though, maybe I could handcuff you and walk you through the booths, lol.

    1. Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on, it's basically the cost of the flight, the ticket to get in, and whatever you can't keep your tack ho hands off of in the (massive. really massive) trade fair. It would be awesome! Also there could be Connor time.

  22. After reading Nicole S's show cost breakdown, I've decided Rolex is a totally reasonable alternative to the show I was planning on going to that weekend with Bridget. Not even joking, I'm off to check out air fare :)
