Fergie

Today I'd like to encourage all of you to head on over to Kelly's blog over at Princess Diva Diaries and get to know her latest addition, Castleberrys Fflying Duchess (Fergie)!

A two-year-old Fergie at sunset, taken by Connor's breeder's daughter Mandy

A couple of months ago, she asked me about a large pony my trainer had in for consignment a while back.  That pony had sold, but I knew Connor's breeder had just gotten one of her Cobs back from training with one of the best trainers in southern Indiana (who also happens to have been one of my college professors), and I put them in contact with each other.

(Fun fact: Fergie shares a granddam with Cardi)

Ever since this blog became Cob Jockey, I've wanted to introduce people to the breed and promote Connor's breeder, Lisa Brezina, through it.  I'm beyond thrilled that one of my blog friends has ended up with a Welsh Cob.  Enabling for the win, Welsh Cobs for everyone!

We can do this Oprah style.  "YOU get a Welsh Cob!  And YOU get a Welsh Cob!" (Although this guy, Castleberrys Ffafr is not for sale)

I'm looking forward to following their adventures together.  Congratulations, Kelly!

  3. Welsh cobs for everyone! Love it. If they were taller, I'd totally want one. Thankfully I have no ambassador ambitions as I am fairly sure I've convinced no one to get a mule.

    1. There's no upper limit on height, you could totally get one! Fergie is a purebred and she's 15.1hh.

  4. Thanks Jen!!! I am beyond excited that you put us in touch with Lisa Brezina and her wonderful cobs which led to the purchase of Fergie! This mare is amazing - fun, smart, super personable, easy going, and a blast to ride. Getting to know you and Connor had put in the back of my mind that if we ever got another horse, I would want a Cob...and here we are!

    1. Yes! Everything you said is every reason why I fell in love with the breed. You'll have to go back to Lisa's to hang out with baby ponies in a month or two. :)
