Buck Change Thing

Summer has finally arrived in Indiana, today was our first 90 degree day.  Connor was feeling frisky, and either gave me a buck that ended in a lead change or a poor flying lead change going uphill at the canter.  Whatever it was, it was awkward, uncoordinated, and he did it because he didn't like cantering uphill on his least favorite lead (right).  That's work! he said.  Tough shit, I said as I circled back, picked up the right lead and went back up the hill.  No more of him convincing me to do more on his better side because it feels better. We're going to be a two-sided pair!

Someone has forgotten what a box fan is in the last 10 months.

Post-conditioning ride and hosing.

  1. Comrade has given me those kind of changes before, normally due to a German Shephard nipping at his heels.
I can't believe this is your first 90+ day, we have been roasting for a while now.

  4. Nicole, it's been amazing here, mostly highs in the 70's through mid 80's, 50's and 60's at night. It's a blessing after last summer, when we'd already had 30+ 90 degree days by this point.

Thanks, Alanna and Hillary! I know, I'm grateful to know he CAN do it...to get out of things...ha.

  5. Maybe that means our 90's will be over soon - seems to be in a wicked holding pattern over KY. Connor looking adorable, as usual!
