Secret Santa 2018

This post is a bit delayed due to, sigh, porch pirates.  This is only the second time in all the years I've lived here that I've had a package stolen.  I felt SO bad that my Secret Santa had to make and ship my gift twice,  and I honestly told her she didn't need to send me anything at all after I realized it was stolen - but she did anyway and it was SO worth the wait!

My Secret Santa was Stacie at Amateur at Large and she did an AMAZING job - really she went over the top if I'm being honest, and I love it.

If you don't read Stacie's blog, let me preface this post by saying matching is kind of her thing.  Not like, just matching your pad to your bonnet, but like, REALLY matching.

When your shirt matches your pad matches your bonnet matches your polo wraps!

So you can guess what my Secret Santa present looked like 😁

When the coozies match the bag match the cup match the pug notebook.  My husband called the Noble Outfitters Wine Down hoofpick "unsanitary".  I laughed.  Looking forward to using that at shows this year!

Her buffalo plaid theme perfectly matched the new Christmas Ruggable rugs I had in my kitchen over the holidays - not sure if Stacie meant to take the matching THAT far or if this was unintentional, but I thought it was perfect!

But that's not all!  She also sent me a One Horse Threads long sleeve tee.  Let's be honest, most of the time my horse looks like the groom is off duty anyway (which drives Connor's Aunt Mary CRAZY), so this shirt is perfect for us.

And that's still not all!  She also sent me a bonnet - and I am kind of in love with it.  It's in our color, it actually fits Connor (very hard to do) and it's well-constructed.

Yes my bridle is dirty, don't judge, we are in full on "survive winter and nothing else matters" mode right now

Before anyone asks, that's not rain rot on his face, those are bite marks from the pony he's tuned out with

And even though it's winter and I definitely don't need to be riding in a bonnet right now, I put it on him anyway and constructed a matchy matchy outfit in honor of my Secret Santa!

But like, it's just a pad and bonnet, I don't have matching anything else.
I had just one "disappointment" out of the whole thing - peppermint pop rocks DO NOT taste like peppermint!  They taste like strawberry!  I feel so misled. 😂

Eye opening!
Thank you Stacie for the amazing Secret Santa gifts!  You rock!

  1. How kind of her to send you the gifts again - so terrible someone thieved it away from you :(

Lots of awesome gifts, and I too am a little saddened candy cane poprocks don't taste like candy canes!!

    1. Isn't it such a letdown? If they had said "Strawberry Holiday Flavor" I would have been totally down with it, but expecting candy cane and getting strawberry, it's just a #firstworldproblem haha.

  2. Package thieves are the worst! I hope the loser who stole one from me this week learns his lesson after he realizes he went through all that trouble just to get a bucket of horse vitamins!! I bet it's not the same lowlife that stole my turtle food a while back :p

    1. Yeah :( It's super frustrating. I'm very on top of it too, I have all kinds of strategies for managing porch pirates since I travel so much, but I have the fewest options with USPS unfortunately, so this one got plucked.

  4. Haha! I had no idea your rugs would match! Glad everything got to you this time, I felt horrible when Tracy emailed me.
I too was disappointed about the pop rocks. How misleading!
Tell hubby not to worry, a little rubbing alcohol or liniment on the hoofpick will disinfect it just fine... haha!

    1. It's Equine Couture - only $12 on Amazon but feels much more expensive than that. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BHK9BQC?pf_rd_p=c2945051-950f-485c-b4df-15aac5223b10&pf_rd_r=2CMKZ3W44FBZEDY90955

  8. Boo porch pirates. I have those horsey socks, they are great -- besides making me laugh, they are pretty sturdy!

  9. oh i wish that you could dip some of Connor's poop in whatever beverage that porch pirate is drinking! That is horrible. Stacie is the best! And that bonnet looks great on him. AND I am so glad to see a dirty bridle. Warms my heart :) HA HA HA

Glad you finally got your presents!! Love them all! BOO on the pop rocks.

    1. Yeah, porch pirates drive me nuts. I have such a complete system worked out on how to thwart them too, lol, it just doesn't work as well for USPS packages.

Yeah...normally I wipe down my bridles after every ride with a 1:10 ammonia:water mixture but that falls apart when it's 10 above outside!!
