Quarantine is Almost Over

(Note to people reading on RSS: I'm messing with RSS settings, please let me know in the comments if anything is broken. Thank you!)

Today is the last day of my post-close-exposure quarantine (I did not end up getting it!). Tonight I'm at least going to go see Aeres - I have to work late, so riding might not happen, but I haven't even smelled a horse in two weeks, so anything is better than that!

Quarantine activities include wearing my dingo out

The two months I spent away from the barn in the spring feel very far away now. At the time I was pretty stuck in my riding, so the break from the barn was almost welcome. Now, though, when every time I ride I discover some other new button and showing Third next year seems realistic, it's been SO hard to stay away.

Thank goodness for the garage gym (behind me), at least I kept my sanity and my fitness while quarantined this time

The timing of this two week quarantine wasn't all bad - this is the time of year that I spend, you know, a few minutes decorating my house for Christmas. I'm up to 80 feet of live garland, around 100ft of fake garland, and four, soon to be five trees. Which is not excessive at all...right?

I was given this tree for free, but it's too big for the corner it needs to live in, so I only put half of it up every year and weight the back end down with softener salt so it doesn't tip over!

I bought these on after-Christmas clearance last year intending to put them in my office, not realizing they would be the perfect color scheme for the laundry room I hadn't yet planned at the time!

Only about an eighth of my cellar is Christmas stuff, that's not excessive...right?

  1. Glad to hear that quarantine is almost over for you and that it was "uneventful."

Maybe you can do a post on how you put away your Christmas decorations in an organized way??? I love the idea of using red totes for Christmas stuff.

    Your house is beautiful!

    1. Oh man, if you really want a post on that I definitely could write one. I used to be kind of half-assed about it, but last year I doubled down on putting it back in a way that made it easy to put out this year, and it sure worked well.

I'll try to do a post on it by mid-December or so, some of the organizers I use sell out completely by December 27th and I can't find them online.

  5. Glad that your close call was just that, a close call. My best friend tested positive over the weekend (her husband is an EMT) and they have both been luckily symptom free and have a week and a half more to go.

AHHH your house!!!! You know that first year you sent me an invite to your XMAS party I was so-so-so close to hoping on a plane for the hell of it, I ended up not (but flew to Europe instead but hey that got me a husband right lolol. Still plan on going and dragging him with me (he's an even bigger weather wimp than me).
