One Ride

Once again, due to circumstances outside of my control, I only got one ride in in between lessons this week.  Two rides a week does not a made horse make.  Or do I get a reprieve because it's winter?

Sigh.  I miss my pony.
Hi.  I'm still not clipped and it takes an hour to cool me out after every ride.  It's a good thing someone loves me!
Lesson today with Jen, our awesome new assistant trainer.  Seriously, I couldn't have picked someone better to fit in with the chilled out, super-nice-but-not-showroom-fancy barn.

Hopefully we make as much progress as last week!

  1. That is a cute picture! Riding in winter is hard, so don't be too hard on yourself :-)

  2. Quality rides over quantity. Make the most of the time you have even if you only have 15min. You will be amazed at how much he retains. If he is anything like his brother, he will think about your rides in the off time and surprise you with right answers the next time.
Mom and I always joke that the ponies get the holidays off during the winter since we work retail.

  3. Cute pic... Cooling out in winter is so hard. I can't remember why you aren't clippping him...???

Don't be too hard on yourself - do what you can - with good coaching and a smart pony you guys will still make amazing progress. :-)

  4. Laura, I'm waiting on Assistant Trainer Jen to have time to help me clip him. I've learned how in a classroom setting and have my own clippers, but would feel more comfortable having an experienced clipper there with me for the first time. Trust me, I can't WAIT to get that hair off of him!
