-10, 2, -12, Who's Counting?

I know, everyone is tired of hearing Midwesterners complain about winter.  All I have to say is, it was a pretty mild winter while I didn't have a saddle, and now that I have a saddle and all the motivation in the world to ride, we get 5" snow, and then this:

2.  In the middle of the day.  That's as warm as it will get.

Between that and going to Texas (you better be warm next week, Texas!  You hear me??)  for a combo childhood friend visit/Blogger's Weekend visit (!!), Connor is not going to get a lot of rides.

This will be one last mini vacation for him before we really start prepping for our first event, which should be Penny Oaks the first weekend of May.  Because really, who can say no to a rated event that is 10 miles from your house?  Not me.  That event is closer to my house than my own barn is.

Only one person is happy about this, and he's not even a person.

  1. That weather is crazy, I thought it was cold here today - but having just used a Google converter i figured out what temps you're living with! O.o total madness!!!
Hope Texas is awesome, that meet up sounds epic. I wish I could go, but sadly not to be. Hopefully you can kidnap some of the good weather from there and help you on your quest for show prep ☺

    1. I don't even want to think about how far below 0 that is in C! That would be a long flight for you, I wish you were coming though! Definitely wish I could capture that weather - spring can't be too far off though.

  3. Just slightly colder here in Michigan. I've managed to keep a pretty good schedule with Phoenix, although when it's really cold (8-15F) I usually just get on bareback for a nice easy hack. I do give up on riding below that though, lol.

Sad I don't get to go to bloggers weekend, I'm sure you all will have fun!

  4. Yeah, my motivation for getting up and out in the morning is extra low when it is -10 with a windchill of -30. Sigh.

    1. Nooooo kidding. I am so glad I just have to motivate myself to get to work in the mornings and not work out or go to the barn. I wouldn't make it.

    1. It will be great, I wish you could come! I only get to go because my husband has more airline miles than he knows what to do with as a result of traveling so much for work.

  10. I have been sitting here hoping and wishing that everyone else's horrible weather would let up. It's getting close to spring for Pete's sake. I want everyone to be able to play! At least you will have a great time at the Blogger meetup :)
