Showing and Moving

I am either a really smart person, or a really stupid person.

I entered the IDS show for Saturday, knowing that I would be taking Connor from the farm, to the Horse Park, to his new home.
A tired pony is a good pony?

PC: Paul Wood

Part of me feels bad, and I wish I could explain it to him in English.  The other part of me knows this pony is the undisputed king of Going With the Flow when it comes to living situations, and he's going to be just fine.

We basically did the same thing on our three city road trip last summer, and at every stop he was like, "This is cool, I'm going to eat my hay and take a nap now, k?"

The third of three cities on our three city road trip, not long after we arrived.
The other thing that makes this crazy, is that my flight lands at 9:30pm on Friday, and I won't have ridden for a week when I warm up for my test on Saturday.

I had no idea I'd be traveling this week when I entered the show, they decided Friday I'd be flying out Monday.  So that was nice.  I'm not upset about it though.  Planning things in advance is rolling the dice unless I take PTO.

More three city road trip throwback photos, from his childhood home.

So really, my goals for Saturday in chronological order are:
1. Drink with Karen and Liz
2. Take a nap in a lawn chair in some 75 and sunny weather
3. Drink with Karen and Liz
4. Improve my 1-3 canter scores
5. Move pony safely to his new home

I added a $4 rug.  Because why not?

  1. Time to make lemonade out of some lemons -- might I suggest adding some vodka too?

  9. Also love your goals ;) Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that ended up with a surprise work trip! I found out this week that I'd be flying out next week and I have a show in a couple of weeks. At least I have a week between!
